Meet Dr. Mark Rashidi: Advocating for the Specialty and Shaping Its Future
Dr. Mark Rashidi, an orthodontist serving the Mission Viejo and Orange County communities, brings a thoughtful, science-driven approach to his work—and a deep commitment to the future of his profession. A graduate of Roseman University of Health Sciences, Dr. Rashidi found his calling in the fascinating mechanics behind tooth movement.
“What drew me to orthodontics was the science and biomechanics—it was incredibly intriguing,” he shares. That curiosity has since evolved into a passion for clinical excellence and patient care.
But Dr. Rashidi’s impact reaches far beyond the treatment chair. As a member of the California Association of Orthodontists Board of Directors, he’s driven by a sense of responsibility to both his colleagues and his patients. “I serve on the CAO because I felt it was important to stand up for our specialty and our patients,” he says. “When the direct-to-consumer orthodontic movement started, I asked myself, What can I do to get involved? I wanted to contribute and effect change.”
For Dr. Rashidi, being part of the CAO isn’t just about policy—it’s about progress. “It’s an honor to serve,” he says. “And being on the board means leaving the specialty better than where it was when I joined.”
And while his passion for orthodontics runs deep, Dr. Rashidi also has a fun side—he’s got some serious karate skills! “I was pretty amazing in karate and won multiple medals,” he says proudly.
Whether he’s advocating for orthodontic standards or carving fresh powder on the mountain, Dr. Rashidi brings dedication, focus, and leadership to every aspect of his life. We’re proud to have him helping lead the way at the CAO.
